The course is ideal for use within a geriatrics, internal medicine, or family medicine clerkship.  Individual cases can also be integrated into another clerkship or clinical training with an emphasis on core topics, such as neurology, psychiatry, emergency medicine, or OB/GYN.

Faculty Feedback

"web-GEMs address many of AAMC Geriatric Medicine Competencies, making selection of cases hard. What a great problem to have, though! The format is similar to SIMPLE, making it familiar for students to navigate. Tracking whether the assigned modules have been completed is incredibly useful. Incorporating the modules’ teaching points into a discussion helps to emphasize the learning points further and extend the classroom effect.”

-- Thuan Ong, MD, MPH, Clinical Faculty, University of Washington

Student Feedback

“In enjoy doing these modules on my own time much more than having to sit through lectures and would like to do more of them.”

“I liked the opportunity to think of what I would do and compare it to the ‘expert.’”
